Shannon Penn

Shannon Penn is the owner and driver for Team
Unleashed Racing. He has long been involved with the sport of racing. He
started out showing a ’71 Ford Mustang muscle car, where he
dominated the show car world and won numerous events. After he dominated the show
car world, Shannon turned to racing to prove that "The Stang" was not just all
show. He went on to win several events during the time he raced "The Stang."
His passion has now shifted to the sport of
offshore powerboat racing. Shannon first started out with a 29' Fountain Fever V-bottom.
This is the boat that started his powerboat racing career. With the 29' Fever,
he went on to win 3rd place in the P4 class at Thunder in the Gulf
in Orange Beach, Alabama. After winning in the P4 class, Shannon was awarded the 3rd place trophy, which was presented by
his idol, Reggie Fountain. As a result of this race, the 29’ version of
Unleashed was featured in Hot Boat magazine. Shortly after winning this race, Shannon was ready to go bigger and faster. He moved on to a 38' Fountain
Lightning V-bottom. With this boat, he became involved in the Offshore Super
Series as an Official Paceboat.
In 2009 Shannon broke into the Offshore Super Series P2 Class with his 38’ Lightning and propelled Team Unleashed Racing to
the top of the leader board to become the 2009 OSS P2 National Champion.
In the future, Shannon is planning to get involved in the Offshore Super Series Cat Lite class with a
spectacular Cat version of Unleashed.
